We are looking for:

• Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated base level of knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy within an acute or rehabilitation setting.
• Clinical Ability: Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to routine Occupational Therapy clinical services including the ability to self-manage both clinical and non-clinical caseload requirements.
• Team Participation/Communication: Demonstrated ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team under the clinical practice supervision of more senior practitioners.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance and education to students.

About your opportunity

This is a 12-month opportunity to work within the North QLD Persistent Pain Management Service (NQPPMS) within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of allied health, medical and nursing staff. The NQPPMS model of care has a self-management and rehabilitative approach that aims to increase the function and quality of life of people living with persistent pain in conjunction with their primary healthcare providers.

You will be required to provide Occupational Therapy individual and group-based assessments and treatment interventions to clients and their families of the North Queensland Persistent Pain Management Service (NQPPMS) on an outpatient basis from within a multi-disciplinary team. This position may involve travel to other health facilities in North Queensland.

Other Requirements

• The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
• Participation will be required in the department’s Clinical On-call service on a rostered basis to work on-call on weekends and public holidays.

Remuneration package of up to $9439 p.m. comprising salary range of $2588.80 to $3805.00 p.f. (HP3), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).
