The Operations Manager is responsible for the management and the execution process of the Screening products (Capital, spares, and wears) in the APAC region, which includes but not limited to:

  • Product/Project Costing & Estimating
  • Product and Project execution Management
  • Sourcing strategies at a regional level
  • Procurement activities (Capital Screens)
  • Product and operations Quality; HSE and Sustainability
  • The Regional Manager must be able to monitor and take actions to achieve and improve the overall performance of the screening products as well as to ensure product availability, quality, and on-time delivery. The desired location for this position is in one of Metso Outotec’s locations in Western Australia.

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Estimate the cost for the screening product line: Capital (including projects); spares and screening media
  • Anticipate, analyze, resolve and escalate project issues throughout the organization
  • Review vendor quotes for accuracy, technical equalization (projects), and help guide cost negotiations with manufacturing vendors and Metso procurement organizations.
  • Supplier assessment and approval
  • Plan and manage the execution of the products and projects ensuring the cost forecast; lead time and quality
  • Resolve interface issues between regional sourcing and engineering, identify and remove barriers to ensure no-stop deliveries
  • Creation of SAP project structures
  • Identification of potential cost overruns for each project
  • Continuous monitoring of the project, sales and earnings trends and all capacities and developing measures of budget variances
  • Project coordination and the interface between the sales organization, customers, suppliers, and internal departments such as; engineering and accounting regarding contractual matters, delivery schedule, terms of payments, etc.
  • ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • Over ten (10) years’ work experience in sourcing, procurement, and supplier development
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, cost modeling, contract management, supplier development and total cost of ownership
  • Project management skills
  • Able to read and interpret technical specifications
  • Knowledge about manufacturing processes
  • Possesses business acumen, strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership with the ability to develop and deploy strategy through detailed action plans
  • Effective communicator and negotiator
  • Excellent skills in SAP, excel, and presentations
  • Comfortable with frequent travels (30%)
