The Pension Calculations Analyst will be responsible for delivering proforma and calculation solutions to the Pension Administration Operation area for Defined Benefit, Care and Hybrid schemes within pre agreed timescales working to relevant project plans. This will be for existing schemes and new implementations.
The Pension Calculations Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and understanding scheme rules and other scheme documentation, current pension legislation where relevant to the work in progress and the data format relating to how scheme data is held on the system relevant to the completion of proformas and other calculations. Other responsibilities will include providing test cases for the sign off of proformas and other calculations and specialist expertise support to the admin teams when delivering the proformas and other calculation routines.
Reviewing and understanding scheme rules and other scheme documentation to understand Scheme specific rules and benefit structure.
Communicate and work with the administration scheme experts to understand current admin processing practices and scheme calculation methodology.
Understand the data format where required for the delivery of the proformas and calculation solutions.
Build proformas and other calculation solutions taking into account scheme and legislative knowledge.
Ensure that where relevant currently legislation is considered and included in any delivery of proformas and calculation solutions.
Build test packs to support and assist sign off of proformas and calculation solutions.
Communicate and work with admin and the actuarial team to obtain sign off of the methodology used within the proformas and calculation solutions.
Ensure delivery of proformas and calculations solutions to the end users whether the administration, system team or both are within accordance of the pre agreed timescales.
Ensure suitable training is provided to the administration team when proformas and calculation solutions are delivered.
Ensure completed proformas, other calculations solutions and test cases/test grids comply with Equiniti processes and company standard for production of this type of work.
Support the systems team with the automation of the calculation routines where applicable.
Identify & implement improvements and efficiencies as part of the process of continual improvement.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Experience of working within an Occupational Pension environment whether within the administration of systems team.
Good knowledge and understanding of UK Pensions technical legislation and regulations.
Understanding of Pension calculation methodology for Defined Benefit, Hybrid and Care scheme.
Experience of reading and interpreting scheme rules and other scheme documentation.
Strong desire to deliver exceptional end results with attention to details.
Logical with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Capable of following standards and meeting deadlines.
Experience of working with both internal & external customers.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
