Guild Insurance is Australia’s leading provider of insurance solutions for allied healthcare professionals. For more than 50 years, we’ve been providing exceptional products and services and unparalleled customer experiences, driven by a genuine care for our clients’ professional and financial wellbeing. We pride ourselves on our future focus and innovation.

At the heart of what we do is being there for those our communities rely on.

Our comprehensive product suite includes professional indemnity, public liability, workers compensation as well as business, home & contents and car insurance. We are Australian owned with offices nationally, so our customers benefit from our local knowledge and presence.

About you

You thrive in complexity. You welcome change as this is critical to your role. You make sure that we meet and adapt to changes in the needs of our partners and our customers; changes in our compliance obligations; and changes in our risk appetite driven by portfolio performance and reinsurance coverage.

You have a solid background in general insurance with an understanding of the regulatory environment in which we operate. You could have a background in Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Claims or Project Management. You can demonstrate that you have either led complex projects or owned products, in roles where you have coordinated and executed change across the business. Ideally, you would have knowledge in all or some of professional indemnity, business pack and personal products.

As the custodian of our policy wordings and responsible for maintaining a consistent rhythm of review and change, you are organised and able to juggle your work. You are proactive in seeking information from your colleagues at different levels as you will depend on their knowledge to guide the changes you make.

You are known as a communicator and mediator who can balance different perspectives and distil the information you have, assessing and determining the changes to be made, in line with our Product Strategy. We will look to you to lead the implementation of policy wording changes, applying sound change management skills and ensuring clear communication to impacted stakeholders.

If you were already in this role, here are some of the things you might have done last week

  • You’re busy keeping on top of your continuous review of our varied policy wordings for both Guild and Acerta’s existing and new products, while paying attention to detail as you maintained our policy wording register and clause library.
  • To understand what wordings need changing and where you would have spoken to: National Underwriting Manager and Senior Portfolio Specialists to gain in-depth background information on our productsOur Client Partnership Executives to understand the needs of our markets and customersThe Portfolio Team to understand how particular portfolios are performing and what challenges they face.
  • In gathering all the information and insights from across the business, you will analyse and determine what changes need to be made in our wordings and where. You will make these changes with care and an awareness of our compliance requirements and an eye for consistency, simplicity and clarity.
  • You worked closely with our implementation team to make sure our systems and processes are updated with any changes you’ve made. You communicated these changes to those impacted by the change and sought the support of your colleagues in making sure you are getting your message out.
