This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a key team of cyber security professionals here at Symantec, supporting full life cycle of our security controls focused on endpoints (end user devices and servers).This position will directly support the internal Network Protection domain and Logging Service, including but not limited to development of strategy and road-maps, lead major initiatives for service improvements, and develop key measures and metrics for effectiveness. Furthermore, this role will work with stakeholders and peers to ensure services are delivered to expect outcomes and processes are documented and delivered consistently. **Responsibilities:**
+ Owner and primary point of contact and authority for the Network Protection domain and Logging Service used by the internal security team in Symantec and accountable for the effective delivery of the service.
+ Provide subject matter expertise, in particular around the use of Symantec Web Security Service, Symantec Web Gateways, Proxies, Syslog-NG and related technologies.
+ Provide direction for the domain function, ranging from strategy, road map and planning; motivational and promotional activities to mentoring and sponsorship ofstaff.
+ Deliver meaningful metrics and reporting across the domain to inform decisions based on accurate, up-to-date measurements of threat and risk.
+ Proactively and collaboratively work with other stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain services.
+ Escalation point for major incident and participate in on-call 24×7 rotation for operational support incidents if needed.
+ Actively participate in governance forums and work with key stakeholders and teams across the company.
+ Offer pragmatic advice and practical assistance on data risk and best practices to mitigate within risk appetite.
+ Manage the deployment and operations of the domain using next generation Symantec and other products to stay abreast of and ahead of real world threats and attacks.
+ Bachelor degree or equivalent
+ 5 years+ experience delivering and developing Security Services
+ Hands on experience with Symantec Web Security Service, Symantec Web Gateways, Proxies, Syslog-NG
+ Expert level Linux/UNIX Systems administration
+ Ability to influence, negotiate, and hold teams accountable to execute
+ Ability to work independently and in ambiguous situations
+ Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to develop innovative risk mitigation solutions that address core issues
**Preferred Skills & Experience:**
+ Industry certifications beneficial such as CISSP, CISM, CISA etc.
+ Prior experience in network engineering roles
+ Deadline driven and detail-oriented
+ Experience working in fast paced environments with the ability to manage workload during times of stress or escalated activity
+ Excellent oral and written communication
+ Hands on Operational Experience/expertise with many of the following products:
+ Power shell and unix shell scripting
+ Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
