T he Company:
With more than 50 years’ experience in the Victorian glass industry, our client is Australian owned and operated. They are committed to quality and customer satisfaction across their product lines. Established in the late 90’s to service the wholesale glass requirements of Victoria’s glass and construction industries.

The Role:
Based from a south eastern suburb’s location, this position reports to the General Manager. Overseeing up to 70 staff indirectly. Through natural growth they are seeking a Production Manager with an additional focus on Quality.

Production duties:

  • Organise and prioritize workflow to meet department (cutting/WJ/CNC/Polishing etc) deadlines;
  • Organise and prioritise orders to make sure deliveries go out on a timely manner;
  • Monitor production to resolve any issues;
  • Supervise and evaluation performs of productions personnel
  • Approve and monitor scheduling of maintenance works to machines as required;
  • Enforce Health and Safety Precautions
  • Quality duties:

  • Oversee inspection of products to confirm quality conformance;
  • Assist with documenting and report quality level and health and safety/goals;
  • Analyse and investigate product issues or reported quality issues;
  • Investigate, monitor and implement change requirements around non-confirming product;
  • Develop or update company complaint and inspections procedures;
  • Implement quality control procedures inc processes for NCR;
  • Monitor risk-management procedures;
  • Follow up daily with regards to how to reduce NCR;
  • Provide training as required;
  • The Skills & Experience
    To succeed in the role, you will have:

  • Previous glass industry experience;
  • Minimum manufacturing industry experience – 5+ years;
  • Minimum 2+ years of proven experience in a supervisory role;
  • Proven track record in maintaining and implementing quality records, quality systems, quality audits;
  • Proven track record of successfully training and implementing productivity and safety to employees;
  • Working knowledge of Safe Work Australia manufacturing regulations;
  • Ability to coach, mentor and counsel employees on a one-on-one basis as well as a group;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
