Responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of all engineering and quality improvement activities associated with the development of new or changed products or processes using engineering principles, customer specifications and cross functional teams support; responsible for product cost optimizations; update Drawings, DFMEA, Control plan, CAD data, Specifications, Test methods, Gage requirement, PPAP and Customer approvals when product/process change have been performed; provide technical interface and liaison with the customer engineering departments and plants; coordinate internal material testing and dimensional layout requirements; perform or assemble all elements required to obtain customer approval; resolve engineering issues related to current production programs; provide technical support and direction to suppliers and support improvement activities; utilize quality information systems, design of experiments, capability studies, GD&T, statistical quality control techniques, technical instructions/diagrams, and automotive systems/procedures to perform duties; participate in cross-functional team review and corrective actions of customer concerns or returned products; assist in resolving problems identified through inspection, testing or customer response; coordinate and assist in conducting and establishing initial process capability; complete analysis and documentation of customer warranty claims; summarize and report warranty metrics monthly; participate as member of appropriate program improvement team and facilitate corrective actions for warranty claims; and travel to customer or supplier to address concerns as required.

Education: Bachelors – Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Process Engineer, as a Lean Engineering Intern, as an Industrial Engineering Intern, or in a related occupation;
Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year use of all the following: quality information systems, design of experiments, capability studies, GD&T, statistical quality control techniques, technical instructions/diagrams, and automotive systems/procedures.
