Connect Wanju, the General Court Intervention Program aims to improve access to treatment and support services for accused persons within the court system through connecting people to opportunities for long term change, with a specific focus on:

  • Social and Emotional Wellbeing (Physical and Mental Health)
  • Alcohol and other Drugs
  • Socio-economic needs
  • Homelessness
  • Palmerston Association and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation have partnered to provide the Connect Wanju program across the Perth Metro area. Connect Wanju means Connect and Welcome and the Connect Wanju team will provide culturally secure, accessible and supportive case management to participants.

    The Connect Wanju Program Coordinator will initially contribute to the co-design of the services and then lead and line manage the program staff team. This role will ensure all programs are delivered in accordance with the model principles and meet the service, governance and operational reporting requirements of the contract with the Department of Justice. The person will maintain strong relationships with partner agencies and the Department of Justice. 

    To be considered you will be able to demonstrate the following;

  • Qualifications in relevant social and/or health services field(s)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge of the management and delivery of community services programs, particularly program establishment
  • Significant frontline management skills and experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strong stakeholder partnerships and linkages
  • Previous experience working within or in collaboration with the justice system
  • Advanced level of case management and/or aftercare experience
  • Experience in program outcome reporting
  • Program intake hub and team base is East Perth with services being delivered at hubs across the Perth region. 

    Applicants must hold, or be able to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Department of Justice Prison Clearance.
