    We now have two exciting opportunities available to join our Infrastructure Development team based in Melbourne, for a 2 year fixed term contract, these are:

  • Project Engineer – Pipeline; and
  • Project Engineer – Facilities.
  • Reporting to the Project Manager (Pipeline and Facilities respectively), you will play a key role in being the 2IC to the Project Manager in accordance with the Project Delivery Procedure with a focus on procurement, engineering, construction, commissioning and handover activities.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery all components of the project as scoped, on schedule, within budget while complying with the project’s quality requirements, statutory regulations, applicable standards, client requirements and APA processes and procedures.
  • Develop, maintain and implement project plans, scope, schedule, budget and quality constraints and ensuring input to design and other project phases as applicable to the project objectives.
  • Support management of key construction contractors and suppliers to ensure the scope of work is delivered in accordance with the contract to meet the project objectives.
  • Ensure relevant project specific reports are prepared and maintained throughout the entire life cycle of the project.
  • Support projects during concept and develop stages.
  • Oversee the overall project quality in regards to the supply of APA provided materials and the construction contractor’s scope of work.
  • Ensuring the daily review, work coordination and update of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) including inspection at required Hold Points. Ensure contractor compliance and sign off. Sign ITP as APA Representative.
  • Maintain the safety standards established by the project.
  • Attend safety, operations, construction, and progress meetings as required.
  • Foster and maintain productive working relationships with construction contractors, land holders and the project team.
  • Perform the required notifications to authorities, regulatory bodies, land owners and other stakeholders
  • Conduct punch listing inspections with construction contractors and manage the rectification of any defects and or omissions identified
  • Adhere to all internal financial processes and polices including the approvals and processing procedures.
  • Assist with the assessment or approval of variations to limits agreed with the Project Manager
  • About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent (Required).
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years (or equivalent) experience in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of gas transmission, gas processing, LNG, chemical process power generation, utilities or associated industries.
  • Proven experience in project engineering including vendor management, project planning including scheduling and cost estimating and project controls including cost and quality control.
  • Demonstrated level of autonomy across the delivery of key accountabilities over the project life cycle
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian codes and statutory requirements.
  • A working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislative requirements
