Are you a Registered Nurse with ED experience and want to make a real difference helping some of the most vulnerable people in NSW? We have an exciting opportunity for a senior RN to join the supportive, multi-disciplinary healthcare team at the Balranald Health Service. About Balranald

Balranald is a beautiful rural town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Balranald Shire is also home to the spectacular Yanga national Park and World heritage listed Mungo national park, rich in Aboriginal history. Surrounded by five of NSW’s most iconic rivers (the Murray, Lachlan, Wakool, Edward & Murrumbidgee), the town provides an ideal location for boating, fishing, kayaking and other water sports.

It also boasts a range of native flora and fauna and a number of funky frog sculptures are scattered around town. Placed between scenic wetlands and the sunburnt outback, Balranald is a unique combination giving you the best of both worlds.

Selection Criteria

  • Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with postgraduate qualification in relevant field to position or willingness to undertake.
  • Recent remote clinical experience or demonstrate a commitment to work as a Registered Nurse in the Remote setting.
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
