Registered Nurse-Outbreak Support

• 12 month Fixed term fulltime role – South Coast

About the role:

In preparation for a COVID 19 outbreak we are seeking an RN familiar with Anglicare systems and processes to assist with communications to family members should an outbreak occur. This is part of a broader strategy, to be prepared for a COVID 19 outbreak across our Anglicare residential homes, should this occur. It involves the appointment of several suitable RN’s across our North West, South West and Central areas. You will have the opportunity to learn about our sites and become well-informed on the way different sites operate. This is a great opportunity to enhance your professional development by stepping up to manage the clinical communication between the home and residents and their families at a time where people are most vulnerable.

You will be expected to:

Work as an RN at St Lukes Village, Dapto in a supernumerary capacity whilst attending comprehensive training on Anglicare’s outbreak management plan.

Move around to other sites such as Eileen Armstrong House, Woonona and Jean House House, South Nowra, periodically.

Be willing to work during an outbreak of COVID 19

Be willing to work day shift as required which may include weekend work

Display a warm friendly disposition with optimal ability to communicate using several platforms

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of Anglicare’s outbreak management plan
  • Provide clinical guidance and communications to resident’s families
  • Day to day management of care needs of residents
  • Manage and direct Carers in day to day activities for residents
  • Support the Residential Manager/Care Manager to fulfill the objectives they have for the effective and efficient management of the facility
  • Compliance with WHS legislation and Policy and Procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes and systems.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience needed:

  • Current Anglicare employee remunerated at a minimum level of RN Level 1, paypoint 2
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written
  • Proven competence in appropriate documentation (including care planning)
  • Proven competence in medication management and administration
  • Ability to support and promote the Mission and Values of Anglicare
