The role:

Computershare is seeking an individual to fill the role of Scrum Master for our Agile squads. 
As Scrum Master, you will be responsible for applying Scrum techniques to enable squads to produce high-quality work. Scrum Master duties include coordinating the software development team, managing timelines, resolving problems, removing barriers to delivery, producing reporting and metrics and coaching team members on Agile methodologies.
Ultimately, you’ll be part of self-organizing teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints. You should have excellent knowledge of the Scrum framework, with all its artefacts and techniques. You’ll also need the ability to coordinate people and projects (occasionally facilitating changes) with your mind set on deliverables. You must be a strong communicator, a capable leader and invested in Agile frameworks.
In addition, we require someone to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. You will be responsible for assisting with release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Guide the team towards self-organisation and ensure a collaborative culture that embraces problem solving and feedback
  • Facilitate scrum events to be purposeful, effective and encourage continuous improvement
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Product Owner to ensure rapid delivery of IT software against agreed priorities and support them to plan, monitor and control the vision and product roadmap
  • Manage impediments that limit progress in areas that are beyond the reach of the team’s self-organisation. Shield the team from disturbance/external threat
  • As change agent, support the wider organisation to understand and work effectively with agile development teams. Counters resistance to change, lack of engagement and scepticism
  • Prepare and present reports on projects success and failures: task progress, iteration planning and forecasts, shippable product planning, sprint report, sprint health check
  • Take responsibility for self-directed learning and keep up with emerging practices and ideas to be able to propose improvement and innovation that would extend the impact of agile practice through the organisation and support team members and stakeholders
  • Assist with the planning and communication of releases, as required
  • Manage and deliver clear and consistent stakeholder communications for all squad missions
  • Prepare and present reports on projects success and failures: task progress, iteration planning and forecasts, shippable product planning, sprint report, sprint health check
  • Promoting innovative and iterative product development across all teams, globally
  • Managing the activities of the team to ensure consistent, rapid delivery of quality solutions on time within budget and scope
  • Support team members to ensure knowledge and skills are shared and transferred
  • Skills and experience:

  • Significant experience working as a Scrum Master with cross-functional agile teams
  • Significant experience working with teams from inception through to maturity, demonstrable experience of ability to build and lead teams
  • Proven skills and knowledge of servant leadership, coaching, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement and empowerment
  • Experience of influencing at all levels, from delivery team to Senior Management
  • Passionate about agile software delivery and associated practices
  • Experience in developing visual reports to monitor and track progress
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading transformational projects with measurable outcomes in an Agile delivery environment
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Computer Science or related discipline desirable
  • Industry certification such as Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Master is desirable
  • Experience of Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) with Scrum templates is desirable
