We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Consultant – Rail Project to join our team, this role is based in Melbourne supporting teams, delivering key rail infrastructure projects in Victoria.
About the Role
In particular, the focus of the role is working across all the rail disciplines to provide project management and technical support advice within the Melbourne Rail Team. Liaise and leverage already existing relationships with clients, industry networks, government agencies, sub-consultants and external stakeholders relevant to the Rail group’s activities, including MTM, V/Line, DoT, ARTC, RPV, PTV and LXRA.
The Senior Consultant help to plan, organise, direct and coordinate a team of rail engineers on projects, providing day to day management of a large team (30 plus) of engineers, planners and technicians. Providing the right environment and support to achieve outstanding outcomes for our clients.
•An experienced professional with experience and detailed understanding of different rail disciplines and the processes required to deliver work in the rail environment, with a recognised tertiary qualification in Business Management;
•Requires co-ordination with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals;
•Ensuring compliance to and negotiation of contractual obligations;
•Coordinating team resources, and delivery for design and construct projects;
•Consulting with Engineering and Technical Rail professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
•Preparing tenders and contract bids and understanding of the risks (and how to manage them) associated with the tender proposals;
•Ensuring adherence to Arup AMS standards of quality and safety while monitor project costs;
•Experience of working collaboratively to realise the clients and internal multi-disciplinary rail engineering teams;
•Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments, leading projects and people;
•Experience working in a design consultancy environment;
•Confident managing existing relationships with clients, industry networks, government agencies, sub-consultants and external stakeholders relevant to the Rail group’s activities,
•Existing networks with clients including MTM, V/Line, DoT, ARTC, RPV, PTV and LXRA;
•Preparation of proposals for the rail team, including commercial offerings, methodology, team offers and outlining of the scope.
•Demonstrated experience managing teams of rail specialists, including coordinator of site-based staff.
