About the role

 

Due to significant growth we now have an exciting opportunity for a talented and dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. You will report to the Electrical Design Manager and will be client-focused and dedicated to the successful delivery of projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors
  • Estimation/Quoting
  • Facilitation of Workshops and Risk Assessments
  • Design of LV Electrical systems including Main Switchboards, Motor Control Centres, Distribution Boards, PLC panels and control panels
  • Electrical design calculations
  • Preparing installation work packs
  • Developing electrical design specifications
  • Equipment and instrument specifications
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) / Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Commissioning

 

About you 

 

Essential requirements for this role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills

Your technical skills

As a minimum we expect:

  • 8+ years experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Detailed Electrical schematics design and PLC wiring diagrams
  • LV power system design and protection studies
  • Control panels design
  • Electrical switchboards specification
  • Arc Flash assessments
  • Instrumentation 
  • Experience with electrical design software such as PowerCAD
  • Estimation, quoting & tendering experience
  • Documentation preparation (Functional Descriptions, Test Documents)
  • Excellent working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
  • Possess excellent knowledge and experience with commonly used supplier equipment such as NHP and Schneider

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Mining industry experience 
  • Water industry experience
  • Hazardous Area training and design experience
  • Experience with industrial electrical installations
  • Understanding of Earthing and Earth Grid design
  • HV system modelling and protection design
  • Control Systems design experience
  • Control Systems programming experience
  • Functional safety training and experience
  • Electrical Design and Drafting using AutoCAD
  • Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) with RPEQ

Please note while this role is based in Adelaide, travel to client sites will be required for inspections, meetings, FAT, SAT and Commissioning.
