Senior Environmental Scientist for an Australian Environmental Consultancy with offices in Brisbane and Sydney who have not only remained stable during the Covid period, but continued to grow.

Their real growth corridor is the Sydney office. Where it originated off the back of a large number of audits for a major infrastructure project, it has developed into a profitable entity of its own and needs heads on the ground to continue both growth and project delivery.

For a young Senior…

For a 5-8 year Senior Contaminated Sites professional, this is a really good opportunity to get in on the ground of a growth trajectory that will see you really learning the craft of scaling a boutique into a sellable asset.

The leaders of this firm want to really develop and shape your skills, so you can expect to be thrown into the deep end, fully supported by very experienced sets of hands. You’ll jump on high-end complex projects and be both in the field and advising clients at the same time.

There is also an opportunity to jump on with the firm’s 2 and soon to be 3 Auditors and handle audit assist work.

Technical Work:

  • Contaminated Sites PSI & DSI
  • Remedial Action Plans (RAP) and Managing Remediation Contractors
  • Through to validation reports
  • Providing advise and strategy to clients around different options
  • Minimising risks and costs for clients through solid advice – we want long term clients, not sugar hits from ripping clients off
  • Manage Juniors in field work and project manage full life cycle of projects
  • Groundwater assessments and investigations
  • Groundwater modelling / interpretations
  • PCB’s, PFAS, Hydrocarbons, Acid Sulphate Soils etc
  • Who this will suit.

This role will suit a solid set of CLM hands who is just starting to make a name for themselves in the market. You don’t need to be bringing in a huge revenue, but when you walk into a meeting, the client knows your name. You know how the game runs, who the suppliers / contractors are and can piece what needs to be done together without needing to ask.

Ideally you come from a CLM / Hydrogeology background, but just CLM skills are fine.

This role was confirmed on June 12th.
