We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join the Sales and Business Development Team in Perth.

Your Responsibilities
The Senior Estimator will report directly to the Head of Sales, and will be responsible for providing leadership to Estimating personnel working in close cooperation with Sales, Engineering and Procurement, ensure that the Company’s group project taskforces estimate projects that meet or exceed Clients’ expectations and provide profit to the Company and the preparation and checking of estimates.

Duties of this role include but are not limited to;

  • Manage, develop and maintain the Company’s estimating systems, procedures and databases, including the collection and maintenance of project results data that can be applied to the preparation of future estimates;
  • Partner with Sales Personnel, Engineering, Procurement, Project Managers, Commercial Project Manager and Legal in the development and review of cost/price estimates;
  • Develop Basis of Estimate documents in accordance with best practices and company procedures;
  • Actively participate in and support the application of risk identification, categorisation and impact assessment;
  • Manage and prepare mining Capital Cost Estimates that are complete and accurate including all checking and conformity to Client requirements;
  • Assist in estimating scope changes and variations for mining projects; and
  • Maintain benchmarks and norms for checking the outcomes of estimating activities.

Your Profile
Successful candidates must demonstrate the following competencies to be shortlisted;

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying or other pertinent field;
  • Thorough working knowledge of project delivery and project management;
  • Familiarity with engineering design, procurement processes, mining industry equipment and projects;
  • Ability to engage with Procurement, including suppliers and contractors; and
  • Advanced Excel user and knowledge of estimating and database tools and systems.
