Salary: $100,161.98 – $132,511.13

Position Summary: A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Senior Hospital Scientist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centered care.About the Role:The successful applicant will be expected to be able to perform the following key tasks:

·Co-ordinate the operational accountabilities of the Transfusion Medicine Department and where necessary between other sections and divisions of pathology.

·Establish, maintain and monitor quality control and quality assurance systems appropriate to the range of activities.

·Monitor laboratory operations to ensure the timely and appropriate reporting of results.

·Be aware of and involved in processing of difficult or unusual requests or results

·Prepare, regularly review and modify the documentation of methods and procedures performed within the section.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.
