Salary/Level: Level 5 $89,047 to $97,994 (PSCAA 2019)

12 month Fixed Term Contract with the option for extension and/or permanency.

The position

The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) is currently looking for a Senior Industrial Inspector to join the Private Sector Labour Relations Division.

As Senior Industrial Inspector, you will facilitate compliance with State Industrial laws through a range of compliance tools including conciliation of complaints, formal investigations and proactive audits.

The focus of the role will be on identifying wage theft occurring in the State industrial relations system and devising appropriate compliance strategies to address the conduct. Among other things, you will be required to prepare high quality briefs of evidence for potential enforcement proceedings in the Industrial Magistrates Court.

This position is located in Perth (however, may be required to work at other sites as required).

 Role requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting complex investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation and/or industrial instruments.
  • Well-developed verbal, interpersonal and written skills.
