Job Description – Senior Lawyer – Group Legal (SYD65923)
How will I help?
As a Senior Lawyer at Westpac, you will assist the Group with high quality advice and support in Corporate Law & Corporate Governance. Keeping up to date with legislation, risk management frameworks and procedures, you will work with key stakeholders to support Westpac’s risk strategy. You will partner with key stakeholders to advise on a diverse range of matters, including advising on class action and other regulatory/litigation risk arising from periodic and continuous disclosure obligations.

What do I need?
We are looking for a talented Senior Lawyer with a minimum of 12 years PQE and the following skills & experience:
Strong Corporate Law & Corporate Governance experience
Significant private practice or in-house legal experience providing litigation advice, corporate law, transactional and/or governance advice.
Proven understanding of the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules, ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations, APRA prudential standards and other relevant legislation.
Skilled communicator, with strong capabilities in stakeholder management and a focus on outcomes and delivery
Experience in securities class actions or regulatory litigation
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as good commercial acumen.
