Looking for the ultimate role that helps define the future? Are you passionate about driving innovation and make a profound impact?

This is a unique Program Manager (PM) role working at our quantum facility in Sydney, Australia. As a company, we are exploring, researching, and engineering what the future of Quantum Computing might look like. We are developing a corporate R&D effort inside the University of Sydney’s quantum research center. This effort will join related efforts at Microsoft, including the quantum architecture and algorithms group (QuarC), in Redmond, Washington, and the quantum theory and research group at Station Q in Santa Barbara, CA, along with a number of affiliated research and engineering groups across the globe. We are on the cusp of an accelerated effort in quantum computing and this position is an opportunity to get in at the start of this new intense phase.

This PM will work with other PMs, engineers, physicists, and software developers to fold the work at Sydney into our products and overall product roadmap. A successful candidate is one who can help specify and define the product as well as dive into the details and planning to deliver it in an agile environment.

We’re looking for someone who is intuitive and analytical and who can influence across multiple groups. The ideal candidate for this position must bring a track record of successful product management and demonstrated ability to drive innovation across all stages of product development, from initial ideation to shipping and supporting multiple generations of live products. You will be responsible for delivering world-class end-to-end experiences for quantum computing. You will likewise partner with our engineering and software development teams to ensure development of a scalable, responsive and robust engineering framework that supports our products.

The candidate will need to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the organization, working across theorists, experimental physicists, software engineers, silicon engineers and hardware engineers in a highly collaborative environment. The candidate should feel comfortable leading and facilitating discussions with stakeholders and show a strong bias for actions.

You will be required to pass Microsoft background checks prior to the start of employment and periodically thereafter. Further details regarding this process will be provided in follow up correspondence.
