As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our national team, to ensure that JLL will successfully continue to deliver Defence projects.

What this job involves

Due to business growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Defence Infrastructure Panel (DIP) team, delivering major capital works projects.

Delivering at all phases of an opportunity, from early business development, bid assembly, then delivery through the project phases, the role requires the resilience to operate in a fast paced environment supported by the executive, national team and the JLL network. The projects are varied and complex, occurring at various locations across Australia.

The role requires coordinating thought and leadership skills to encourage maximum contributions of all participants for each tender pursuit and project, and focus these to maximise outcomes for all stakeholders.

Sound like you? This is what we’re looking for:

You’ll have superior communication skills, with the ability to build and foster successful relationships with your clients and stakeholders. We’ll expect you also have great time management and organisational skills, and have the capacity to successfully work with the Project Director and executive to prepare pursuit strategy, actively contribute and lead aspects of tender responses, lead the day-to-day delivery of major projects including a high proficiency in programming and cost model preparation and management, collaborate with our clients and manage staff whilst working collaboratively in a team environment.

Both strong written and spoken communication skills are vital and you will also have strong experience in preparing complex tender responses for the Department of Defence (ideally Capital Facilities and Infrastructure Branch), which will be a significant aspect of the role. Of course, you will be good at working in a team environment and interacting effectively with business partners.

Ideally, you will be tertiary qualified in Engineering, Architecture, Building & Construction, or a related discipline.

Prior experience in Defence related infrastructure projects (such as projects for Capital Facilities and Infrastructure), or aligned Commonwealth government experience including business case writing and proven experience with the required project approvals process, is required.

An ability to travel away from home locations will be necessary to effectively manage the projects.

It is a requirement that candidates are Australian Citizens and able to get an appropriate baseline security clearance.

The role is based in  Canberra.

What can you expect from us?

You’ll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture. One where we succeed together – across the desk and around the globe. Where like-minded people work naturally together to achieve great things. Keep those ambitions in sights and imagine where JLL can take you…
