About The Role:

The Department of Finance has been tasked with the delivery of a significant works program, as part of the WA Recovery Plan, on behalf of the other government agencies.

This role is responsible for overall project management of low to medium value, risk and complexity projects. The Senior Project Officer contributes to project teams of in-house and private sector professionals, to plan and deliver projects for government. This may include the supervision of Project Officers and other support staff.

The Senior Project Officer will be involved in the delivery of non-residential building and construction projects as part of this program and may have the opportunity to be involved in projects located across Regional Western Australia.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and/or qualifications, preferably in building, infrastructure construction or maintenance. They will have well developed communications skills, encompassing written, interpersonal and verbal, with the ability to act as a conduit between technical and non-technical issues that confront building and construction projects. They will be able to provide leadership to project teams, as well as colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities and work within a small team to achieve project delivery outcomes that align with our values, Strategic Directions and commitments to client agencies and government.

Equity and Diversity:

We are committed to providing career opportunities for underrepresented groups within the building and construction industry. As a result, we encourage applications from a diverse field, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with a disability, women, young people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

As a proactive measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) will apply to this position. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
