Do you want to be part of designing upgrades to a world-class airborne surveillance and control platform?

Boeing Defence Australias (BDA) is currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Brisbane. Working primarily within the Commercial Derivative Aircraft Business Unit, you will be part of the team that enhance and sustain the Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) E-7A Mission Systems Software.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Software engineering activities including software requirements analysis and specification, functional analysis, software design and development, software integration and test

  • Conducting engineering activities in accordance with project plans, and established processes, practices and standards, while continually seeking out opportunities for process improvement

  • Engaging effectively with other team members and leadership across CDA

  • Mentoring, coaching and teaching junior staff members across the entire lifecycle of SW tasks

  • Executing tasks and adapting processes to continuously improve platform cyberworthiness

  • To be successful you will have:

  • Experience improving security aspects of comuting systems
  • Experience developing software in C++ or Java – skill in the language must be advanced
  • Several years experience in complex, real-time, multi-threaded, distributed systems
  • Familiarity with source code control and document configuration management systems
  • The ability to work independently and within a team across a wide range of tasks and competencies
  • Experience with some or all of the following is desirable:

  • Knowledge of Defences Information Security Manual
  • Systems Engineering methodologies
  • Mission computing & networking hardware and software
  • Wedgetail (AEW&C) experience and/or knowledge
