Job summary

Make an impact in the world’s leading open source technology company. The Red Hat Technical Training team in Australia is looking for a Learning and Development Instructor to support our training deliveries across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). In this role, you will deliver training programs, technical workshops and certification exams to our customers and partners. You will also assess learning needs and create learning plans for customer teams. Partner instructors will depend on your guidance and support. As a Learning and Development Instructor, you’ll need to have excellent communication skills and experience with Red Hat’s technical trainings. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Facilitate Red Hat Training classes
  • Facilitate Red Hat certification exams
  • Guide discussions with customers to scope training needs
  • Plan and carry out presales activities with the local Training Sales team
  • Assist the Training Services Sales team in additional sales initiatives to grow the training business
  • Serve as a technical account manager for a dedicated set of training partners; help them train instructors and assist them as they grow their business
  • Work with the Global Training and Certification teams to design and test new courses and certifications
  • Build and deliver customized courses
  • Participate in internal projects and pilots as needed to ensure that offerings are effective prior to wide-scale general availability
  • Required skills

  • 8+ years of industry experience, 5+ of which are in instruction
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCA) certification
  • Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), automation, etc.
  • Solid background in Linux or UNIX system administration and deployment
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the organization
  • Exceptional course facilitation and management skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Team-oriented with initiative, positive attitude, and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated ability to work both on your own and as a member of a collaborative team
  • The following are considered as a plus:

  • Higher levels of Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification with specialization in Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
  • Experience with application development or application modernization
  • Virtual training facilitation experience
