The Role

We are seeking an experienced SMP Project Manager to work on the design and construction of two water tanks in Western Australia – a 42ML tank at Merredin in the Central Wheatbelt and a 32ML tank at Dedari in the Goldfields.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical and Piping to lead these works on the project(s) and ensure compliance with client expectations, company objectives and all contractual obligations. The works include the full construction of the two reinforced concrete water tanks at these sites and civil / structural experience will be highly advantageous. The role will be supported by the Project Manager and wider management team with training provided where required.

The project works have now commenced with activities on site anticipated to start around September and to extend until end 2021. SRG has a strong pipeline of potential projects to allow for a career continuity at completion of the contract.

Works will include:

  • Design and Construction of two reinforced concrete water tanks
  • Associated Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Security installations
  • Link Ins to existing water infrastructure
  • Associated civil works including drainage, surfacing and fencing
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in the planning, preparation and execution of the Mechanical and Piping works
  • Construction management including all necessary works co-ordination and scheduling, resource allocation, direct supervision and inspections.
  • Technical deliverables including project management plans, construction schedule & QAQC documentation (ITPs, field inspections, MDR etc) 
  • Supplier and sub-contract procurement and management.
  • Financial management including budget preparation, job-costing, preparing & monitoring cost to complete, profit forecasting etc.
  • Implementation and reporting against KPI’s and other contract / company deliverables.
  • HSE management and planning (management plans, CRAW etc) to incident response including investigation.
  • The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineer and/or Civil Engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience on Water Corporation projects and tanks construction
  • Strong communication and planning skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and Jobpac are desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management
  • Willingness / ability to work in remote locations as may be required
