Salary Guide: $80k to $100k package


This is truly an exciting opportunity for a technically minded senior accountant or above to join one of Melbourne’s most progressive and cohesive firms. These are not just words. This firm is relatively small, yes, but it services sophisticated clients which can be very large, and as such, competes directly with Big 4 firms. To do this effectively the firm’s technical standards are at least the equal of the largest firms. Where it differs from the Big 4, is that it has a genuine team spirit. All staff from top to bottom have the same high expectations of each other. The Partners are genuinely approachable and mentor their staff at every opportunity. Client interaction is encouraged and advancement is not restricted but promoted when ready.

This particular opportunity is ideally suited to a very strong SMSF / Business Services accountant who has a genuine interest in moving on from processing and becoming involved in providing advice. A very broad role is available but if you prefer an SMSF focussed role or business services role then this could be accommodated. With training and guidance from the Partners, you will be exposed to complex work including, if desired, financial modelling and tax consulting. 

The ideal candidate will be CA or CPA qualified and have solid SMSF and Business Services experience with a desire to develop their advisory skills across both disciplines. It may be the case that either your SMSF or Business Services experience is not totally current, but this is not an issue. Sound Excel skills would be a distinct advantage.

As client interaction will be extensive, you must have exceptional communication and presentation. Maintaining the positive culture of the firm is imperative so you must be a team player who is self-motivated and always delivers work of the highest quality.

Full ongoing training is provided and individual training programs are designed for staff. Whether you want to become RG 146 compliant and move toward financial planning (not necessarily to become one), or if you are more interested in tax and business advisory work, you will be supported.
