An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Social Worker – Senior (Maternity & Paediatric Services) to join the Social Work Department at the Bundaberg Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 200,000 residents including several rural communities.

Your opportunity:

  • This position is a Senior Social Worker responsible for the providing high level Social Work services including Maternity and Paediatric services at Bundaberg Hospital. Clinical work undertaken will be of a complex nature and duties will be performed with a high degree of independence. The role will include but is not limited to: Domestic Violence issue;Unexpected patient outcomes (including psychological first aid);Bereavement services;Child protection issues; andFamilies in need of support
  • Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to demonstrate immunity to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases ( https://tinyurl.com/yc6pgyt2 )(VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox), and Pertussis (whooping cough).

    From 9th December 2019 all new employees will be required to be assessed for their risk of Tuberculosis (TB).     Our offer:

    You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $134,445 p.a., comprising salary between $109,505 – $117,835 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f.)
