The opportunity

We are seeking a Mid-level Solicitor (3-5yrs) or Senior Associate (0-3yrs) to join our premier Employment, Industrial Relations and Safety (EIRS) team in Sydney.
 
In this role you will work closely with Michael Gonski, Partner as well as other leading Partners across our Sydney and national EIRS team. You will undertake a range of work that supports and advises local, national and global blue chip clients across multiple sectors on strategic industrial relations and employment matters.
 
You will take on a key role in the practice group and work closely with our talented team to provide employment law advice on workforce strategy, employment aspects of large-scale M&A transactions, enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, industrial action, general protections and all types of Fair Work Commission proceedings. You will have extensive client exposure and opportunities to develop a network of relationships. Skills, experience and qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will:
 

  • have demonstrable experience across a range of industrial relations and employment law matters from a leading top tier, national or international private practice; or an in-house environment;
  • sector expertise in construction, public sector, financial services, transport, mining and/or energy is highly desirable;
  • be a qualified/admitted legal practitioner in either Australia or New Zealand;
  • have an excellent academic record, strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • have a hunger to learn and develop, and maintain a market-leading practice.
