(www.scionstaffing.com), a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct the search for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)  for our nonprofit client, a beautiful speech and occupational therapy clinic based in Lakewood, WA. Our client focuses on pediatric skills development in multiple areas including speech and language, cognition, focus/attention, self-regulation and self-care, all while infusing play throughout all aspects of a child’s therapy experience. With 350 patients and over 30 employees, the mission of the clinic is to create a place where therapists of different specializations can collaborate to provide comprehensive care to a child and their family.

  • Position Overview:

    Working alongside a team of 10 other Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Assistants (SLPAs), this role will provide top notch support in the counseling and consultations process for patients, including:

  • Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients
  • Provide counseling and consultations for new patients
  • Collaboratively with an SLP supervisor create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges
  • Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field
  • *New graduates and experienced therapists are encouraged to apply, training and mentoring will be provided by experienced clinicians who are compassionate and committed to assisting clients achieve the best level of care and progress possible in all aspects of their therapy.*

    What You Bring:

    We are seeking candidates with:

  • An Associate’s Degree in an SLPA program or Bachelor’s in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders program
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent. 
  • A WA State Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant License
  • Experience with pediatric language therapy desired.
