Located on the edge of Adelaide’s CBD adjacent to the beautiful South Eastern Park Lands, St Andrew’s is the largest independent private Hospital in Australia, with 30,000 procedures being performed each year. Our patients are admitted electively or via our Emergency Service, and we cater for most surgical specialties including, but not limited to, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, urology, colorectal, orthopaedics, daVinci (Robotic) systems, breast and gynaecology,. Building on our successful base, in 2018 we completed a $50 million upgrade and expansion of our clinical facilities with more improvements planned for 2020 and beyond.

 

We recently opened our brand new, state of the art Central Sterilising & Supply Department to complement our $50 million clinical extension and development.

 

About The Role:

 

To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Sterilising Technician to join our CSSD team on a casual basis across a range of shifts in a 14 day roster.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of sterilisation duties in a safe, efficient manner, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and as directed by the Manager, Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD).

 

Specific responsibilities as part of the team include:

  • Processing, maintaining and distributing reusable medical devices required by Operating Theatres and wards.
  • Collecting contaminated reusable medical devices from wards and designated departments for delivery to CSSD
  • Assisting with validation and routine control of a decontamination and sterilisation process
  • Attending to the transportation, storage, rotation and handling of supplies.

 

About You:

 

Candidates must possess a Certificate III in Sterilisation (or equivalent) along with:

  • significant experience in sterilisation within a hospital setting is highly desirable
  • a strong customer service oriented mindset
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • a methodical approach to work and a high level of attention to detail
  • the ability to comply with quality standards, policy and procedures.
