A Strategic Analyst reporting to the Executive Director, COVID Coordination is required for an immediate start working from home.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the newly established COVID Coordination team supports the Minister. The team provides central coordination, reporting and whole-of-department oversight for all projects delivered through the Government’s missions framework. The team is also responsible for contributing to risk management processes, record keeping, integrity and compliance across numerous COVID initiatives, as well as ensuring evaluations and reviews of COVID programs facilitate ongoing improvement and embed best practice across the Department.

Key Accountabilities include;

  • Identify data sources and develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with the relevant groups and branches within the Department and/or other Government agencies at a State and Federal level
  • Use data sources to identify, analyse and manage emerging integrity issues, trends and risks based on current internal processes, providing strategic recommendations based on this evidence-based analysis
  • Assist in preparing accurate and thorough recommendations, reports, briefing papers and correspondence on all investigation and team activities
  • Use insights to assist in targeting identified issues and risks, sharing information as appropriate across the Department in order to close the loop as a preventive measure
  • Develop and implement comprehensive team performance reporting processes for various audiences including internal and external partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in other strategic projects or relevant meetings, forums and committees as required
  • Play a lead role in developing strategic evaluation assessments and reports for other business units where required and drafting enforcement referrals or documents as needed.

  • The Desired Experience and Qualifications to be successful in this position inlcude;

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in integrity, risk or regulatory analysis would be an advantage
  • Experience in database design, management and SQL, Access
  • Experience in Business Intelligence software such as Tableau an advantage
  • Contemporary strategic enforcement or investigative analysis techniques and methodologies an advantage
