    The opportunity

    An exciting, new opportunity for an experienced Sustainability professional has become available, joining the Group Corporate Affairs and Sustainability division in Sydney.

    This is an amazing opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainability frameworks, strategy, policy and performance metrics, as well as manage the data collection and reporting of our sustainability performance across the QBE Group.

    Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, you will:

    Lead our annual sustainability materiality assessment process including desktop research and external stakeholder engagement;Contribute to the ongoing review of our Group Sustainability strategy in line with materiality results and agreed sustainability priorities along with QBE’s purpose, vision, strategy and desired culture;Project manage the development of key sustainability targets and associated metrics, including the annual update of our external Sustainability Scorecard;Develop / maintain easy to use data collection and reporting templates;Lead the development of our annual Sustainability Report, including managing internal data collection and verification, the external assurance process and service provider relationships (editors, designers, assurance);Work with key people across the business to collect the information required to complete external analyst surveys (e.g. DJSI, FTSE4Good, ISS, MSCI) and other internal / external reporting requirements;Assess QBE’s current management of sustainability in line with best practice sustainability frameworks, stakeholder expectations, competitor performance and benchmarking results and help to identify strengths, gaps and associated opportunities and risks. Engage with issue owners to discuss improvement opportunities and prepare periodic updates to management with supporting analysis and insight;Support the development and maintenance of overarching sustainability frameworks, policies and procedures and work with Risk on sustainability elements of the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA);Monitor alignment with voluntary standards and/or membership of industry sustainability initiatives (e.g. Principles of Sustainable Insurance) and prepare communications of progress where relevant;Contribute to the Sustainability Team’s ability to provide strategic counsel on a range of sustainability trends and issues.

    Your story so far

    Previous experience in a similar role; within Insurance or Financial Services industries being advantageous; Strong experience in data analysis, sustainability benchmarking and reporting frameworks (e.g. CDP, DJSI, GRI);Solid understanding of/experience with external assurance processes;Working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance requirements within the Insurance/Financial Services industries;Highly-developed verbal and written communication, and proficiency in developing executive-level reports and presentations that are both commercial and compelling;Strong project management skills;Highly-developed commercial acumen and ability to articulate the business drivers for sustainability;Superior stakeholder management skills, including the ability to gain influence and present across all organisational levels.
