    George Bolton Swimming Centre is an outdoor pool facility located at Burnside surrounded by picturesque settings. The centre is open from 19th September 2020 – 25 April 2021 and offers a caring, positive, vibrant and team orientated workplace.     About the Role

    Enjoy working with children to provide high standards in teaching swimming and water safety, gain satisfaction in watching growth and development in swimming ability and have fun teaching swimming skills and activities.

    Swim School shifts are: Monday – Thursday 3.30pm – 6.00pm & Saturday 9.00am – 12.00pm and also offers 1 week block of shifts in December & January Monday – Thursday from 9.00am – 12.00pm.

  • Duties

  • Teach planned classes to children of all ages
  • Assist each student to achieve maximum benefit from their lesson
  • Adhere to the swimming centres work methods and operating procedures
  • Assist in the daily lane and equipment set up of swim school lessons
  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships with parents and students with effective communication
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all centre patrons
  • Ensure all water safety rules and programs are promoted
  • Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Ability to manage student safety, in groups of various ages and abilities, with an enjoyable approach
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a wide range of individuals and age ranges
  • Previous experience in a similar role: organising swimming class planning, knowledge of water safety skills and education
  • Apply a proactive approach, and use a high degree of initiative
  • Excellent observation skills, with the ability to analyse and assess swimming competence
  • Ability to manage conflict situations, and successfully negotiate solutions
  • Hold an AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and water safety Qualification or equivalent, First Aid, CPR and DCSI or Working with Children Clearance and Child Safe Environment training.
