About the Opportunity

The Surveillance team within the Jindalee over the Horizon Radar Network (JORN) are expressing their interest for Systems Engineers at a variety of levels to help appropriately reduce risk in a technology driven system definition and design phase

We will provide the opportunity to work and learn in a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment using a suite of tools including DOORS, Cameo and Confluence. You will Work within an immediate team of 15 systems engineers, working closely with teams of other disciplines (Hardware, Software and integration).

This opportunity will see you:

  • Deployed to critical Defence programs to supply requisite systems engineering rigour, best practice benchmarks and discipline leadership
  • Develop and manage system requirements and design including system and subsystem specifications, product breakdown structure, design documentation, component and interface specifications
  • Work within an immediate team of 15 systems engineers, working closely with teams of other disciplines
  • Perform system engineering activities including requirements management, functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design, system analysis, integration, verification and validation, acceptance testing and certification
  • Embrace and champion the transition towards a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology across the business
  • Participate in ensuring that designs meet all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Perform analyses to define and characterise the system and its components
  • Utilise domain, discipline and systems engineering knowledge to enable, support and deliver products robustly, demonstrating they meet their requirements and are fit for purpose

About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you’ll have:

  • The ability to obtain or already hold an Australian Defence Clearance (Essential)
  • Experience in an ASDEFCON program would be advantageous
  • A University degree level engineering qualification preferably within an Electronics, Software, Mechatronics or Aerospace discipline
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills
