Youth Off The Streets is a service lead organisation looking for a Team Leader Casework – Specialist Interventions.
This is a newly established role that is responsible for the delivery of program operational plans and leading front line case workers through the processes involved with carrying out planned activities and programs while ensuring seamless operations in accordance with YOTS strategy, policies, procedures and sector standards/guidelines.
Some of the functions of the role include:
Lead and coach a team of Case Workers.
Lead Case Workers through the implementation of best practice guidelines and principals in case work.
Manage caseloads to ensure efficient service delivery.
Build local referral networks and partnerships in Western Sydney to facilitate the delivery of and referrals for our Dunlea Drug and Alcohol Program and our Youth Crime Prevention program.
Oversee case planning and monitoring of all case work activities to ensure successful outcomes for young people.
Provide support and supervision/performance monitoring for case workers.
Contribute to the professional development activities for case workers.
Work in partnership with crisis refuges and youth work teams delivering individual client support.
Coordinate and oversee compliance requirements in line with contractual agreements in collaboration with management.
Support and collaborate with management to ensure the overall efficiency and high quality of services.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of service delivery through involvement in internal auditing and strategic and operational planning.
Ensure timely and efficient data collection and record keeping.
Contribute to the development of new projects and funding submissions.
Produce reports to management as required.
This is a permanent full time position reporting to the Client Services Manager and is based in Western Sydney (with required travel across multiple sites).
The essential criteria for this role are:
Bachelor’s degree in Community Services, Behavioural Sciences, Social Work or related field, or commensurate experience.
Minimum 2 years management/team lead experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in case work.
Skills and knowledge:
Specialist knowledge of case work.
Leadership and mentoring capability.
Excellent planning, organisational, reporting, and administrative skills.
A broad understanding of both the issues faced by clients and their families, as well as effective approaches to address these issues.
Commitment to maintaining professional development.
Awareness of legislation relevant to the position.
Ability to apply Trauma Informed Care principles.
Specialist knowledge required to manage program activities relevant to the role.
Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge of case management theory and best practice principles.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the youth sector and specialist schemes and government frameworks related to this role.
Proven experiencing in maintaining partnerships and effective referral pathways.
Excellent financial management skills.
Proven ability in supervision of staff and managing performance.
Desirable criteria, including but not limited to:
Knowledge and familiarity of youth services across the Western Sydney Area.
Alcohol and Other Drugs specific knowledge.
Experience with Youth Juvenile Justice and Crime Prevention
A valid and current NSW Working With Children Check, full Australian Working Rights and a Drivers Licence are essential for this position.
