About the position

In this role,you’ll provide day-to-day management and claims expertise to your team ofclaims experts and empowering new-comers for their successful start to theircareer with GB, ensuring the delivery of a professional and customer-focusedclaim’s management service, while developing staff and implementing qualityinitiatives

This is a fulltime and permanent position, working alongside GB’s Worker’s Compensation teambased in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

Duties

  • Managing your team’s daily workflow in order to achieve an effective team output and to maintain client service standards
  • Providing effective coaching and feedback to staff on technical, business and performance related issues
  • Engaging and build a strong relationship with portfolio of corporate clients in a proactive manner to discuss clams strategies and address areas of concern
  • Working with Branch Managers to identify staff’s skills and knowledge gaps and assist with the up-skilling of your team
  • Working alongside your Branch Manager to develop and cultivating team morale, and an achievement and service orientated culture; ensuring a dedicated and team based approach to the management of claims
  • Mentoring and coaching team members, and encouraging creativity, risk-taking and continuous improvement within the team
  • Identifying any areas for improvement in Claims Management service provision, and implementing strategies and processes to ensure GB’s services meet business and WorkSafe requirements
  • Supporting your team to achieve the targets of the business by improving claims management outcomes; ensuring alignment to WorkSafe APA Business rules and performance measures.
  • Engaging staff to meet their own personal performance measures and goals
  • Recruitment of staff and conducting performance counselling
  • Facilitating effective team meetings and project activities 
  • Skills andExperience

  • Claims Management and/or Personal Injury Management experience within the Workers Compensation industry, preferably in an Agent setting
  • Outstanding leadership skills, and experience in coaching and mentoring staff is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of industry performance measures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and external parties
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health and/or Tertiary qualification in appropriate field will be held in high esteem
