Your Challenge

One of the most exciting fields in tech right now is found at the intersection between cyber security, cloud platform technology and applications. There is little argument that applications are at the centre of modern business – which is why Cisco is crafting a rich portfolio through our App-First security strategy to help address the needs of securing modern app workloads.

Central to this strategy is the Cisco Tetration™ Workload Protection platform – which provides unprecedented workload insights and protections in Data Centre and Cloud environments. Capabilities like behaviour-based workload segmentation have developed into an incredibly compelling new approach to securing these environments, and Tetration is now being adopted at scale by household names in Australia and New Zealand.

That’s why we need you – we have the technology to lead and win in the Cloud Workload Protection market, and it’s time to take it to the next level. We truly believe that in a few short years, every workload that matters – be they container-based, VM-based or something else – will be secured with Workload Protection capabilities.

This opportunity has been created as the individual currently in this role in Australia has been promoted to a global technical leadership role.

You will be responsible for the Tetration portfolio as the lead Technical Solutions Architect (TSA) for the Australia & New Zealand market. In this role, you will provide technical pre-sales leadership at a whole of market level, with a focus on our most strategic Workload Protection opportunities.

We’re looking for a cloud-savvy technical leader who is ready to innovate, hungry to put their mark on the development of a new market, and most importantly motivated by a desire to make a real impact working with organisations to better secure their cloud and data centre environments.

You can find out more about Tetration Workload Protection and our App-First Security strategy atand.

Who You Are

You’ll need to be highly versatile, quick to learn and able to work with a multitude of stakeholders: ranging from the CTO down, across disciplines such as operations, security, platform specialists and application owners. Likewise, engagement with technical experts across Cisco’s existing and emerging channel partners will be key.

Internally, on a day-to-day basis you’ll work with our Australian Tetration sales lead, along with Cisco’s account teams, data centre and security specialist teams and technical architects. You will form part of a focussed high-performance team across Asia Pacific & Japan charged with accelerating Tetration Workload Protection throughout the region.

You are inspired by the idea of being at the forefront of technology, and whilst an understanding in cyber-security and DC/cloud platforms would be ideal, also critical is your ability to simplify and communicate new concepts and help customers understand how these ideas impact them.

As a minimum, you will have

  • 10+ years of experience of pre-sales, consulting, or in-house technology leadership experience in software, security, operations and/or cloud technologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced start up organization within a large complex company

  • Great listening and presentation skills
  • A drive not just to sell technology capability, but to do it in a way which does meaningful good – ability to demonstrate a customer-first mindset is key

  • Capability to translate product capabilities to practical use cases relevant to customers in the Australian and New Zealand market
  • This position requires a passion for driving strategies and a strong personality with demonstrated leadership skills working in a complex matrix organization
  • An understanding of information security and governance concepts, particularly as applied to Data Centre/Cloud and Application Platform environments.
  • Well-developed personal organisation and time-management skills
  • University degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
