The Role:
As our Technology Manager you will be a key leader within the Endeavour Technology team. Providing technical leadership and platform decision making accountability for a domain or suite of applications/systems. In addition to this you will also be responsible for the technical product lifecycle and working alongside the product owners, business partners and technical teams to deliver cost effective, quality, innovative technology solutions and services that support the business strategy.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Own and maintain the overall technology roadmap, for their respective domain,in partnership with the Business and Technology Leads.
  • Accountable for short, medium and long term aspects of their technology domain in alignment with the business strategy,
  • Short term – performance, resilience, integrity and standards
  • Medium term – Scalability and interoperability with other domains or external
  • Long term – Roadmap and blueprinting including Buy, Borrow, Build and modern approaches implementation eg. Kubernetes
  • Devise platform solutions and guide technical decisions that support the business strategy
  • Align expectations across the enterprise and deliver a valuable and comprehensive domain roadmap
  • Partner with the business and Architecture teams to drive the review and selection of new solutions and how they fit into the relevant domains KDDs)
  • Actively develop and maintain constructive relationships with key business leaders and users
  • Continuously manage the business prioritisation, understanding and acceptance of the Sprint deliverables (or regular releases)
  • Define the features of the product or desired outcomes of the application(s)
  • Ensure the product(s) remains aligned with the core and that all extension requests are required and profitable (ROI)
  • Establish cost/timelines for product deliverables , Track/monitor performance to budget
  • Ensures the Sprint planning schedule is documented and manages the Implementation of the Sprint(s) into Production
  • Ensure adherence to Scrum/Agile development methodology (where applicable)
  • Manage concurrent development streams to meet business goals
  • Lead a team of technical specialist (Delivery Leads, Engineers & QA) in devising solutions and guiding technical decisions through consultation that support business strategy
  • Provide technical leadership advice/input into the squad backlog, especially for capabilities/features that are utilised across businesses or impact end-to-end customer outcomes.
  • Manage resources from geographically dispersed teams (internal & external), if applicable
  • Develop core metrics and KPIs for performance measurement relating to team, suppliers and applications, Document and report performance
  • About You:
    An enthusiastic and positive leader with a self-directed and self-motivated attitude who can demonstrate ability to think strategically, understand business dynamics, and manage large amounts of managing multiple complex priorities with competing deadlines and through various stages of development and approval.

  • Extensive Technology Management experience, working with end-to-end, complex and high value projects
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodology, disciplines and procedures, and evidence, or ability, to help / guide others on processes
  • Thorough understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Digital applications experience – a mix of large, complex technologies, cloud and data are highly favourable
  • Proven ability to execute technology solutions (by driving outcomes)
  • Ability to provide input to technology strategies that enable and inform business strategies
  • Well abreast of industry trends and directions to ensure solutions will provide business with forward compatible, scalable and flexible solutions.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a functional area/Chapter – development, quality assurance or delivery management
  • Management of external partners across both technical and creative verticals
  • Ability to understand new technology
  • Ability to engage at all levels and communicate clearly and concisely technology solutions, programs and options
  • Competent in financial management of capital and operational expenditure
  • Strong planning capability across time, finances and resources
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed organisation

    Nice to have:

  • Experience in retail, preferably multi-channel across offline and online channels
  • Good understanding of web technologies, trends, online marketing and fulfillment
  • Experience working with SaaS Vendors
  • Technical background such as software development, or equivalent
