    About the role:

    We have a permanent role for an experienced Trading Analyst to join our Supply Commercial team in our Fuels and Infrastructure Business unit. You will facilitate execution of long and short-term trading and infrastructure deals by providing robust data analysis to support the team in making decisions and evaluating alternatives aligned to our overall strategy.

    The role is based in Sydney CBD, but we offer flexible work options and we are open to inter-state candidates.

    Duties:

  • Provide advice and modelling insights to the Supply Commercial group on in and out of country positioning.
  • Generate scenario assessments for physical oil trading deals
  • Support the business development process with market insights, tools and analysis
  • Track the performance of trading contracts, including P&L and Exposure Tracking
  • A variety of physical oil Trading and freight analysis
  • Skills and experience:

    You’ll bring strong commercial experience in the downstream oil industry and/ or petroleum trading companies in areas such as supply planning, supply operations, line finance roles, corporate planning and strategy and distribution.

    We are open to pricing, finance backgrounds in industries with similar bulk commodities to oil and gas.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Finance or Business-related disciple, or relevant operational experience
  • Understanding of supply chain process and impacts
  • Experience and knowledge of trading processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience with large data sets and modelling tools and techniques in addition to being an Excel and VBA wizard
  • Experience developing models, tools and dashboards for front office teams
  • An enquiring and curious mind, keen to find new insights and seeking an intellectual challenge
