Your path to many possible futures | Transport Manager | Wodonga Location Overview Manage transport operational execution to ensure carrier delivery service, cost and safety outcomes Liaise with Woolworths DC operations and third party carriers and resolve any issues in the Supply Chain including Stores You will be responsible for the delivery of service, cost and safety targets for transport The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager, based in our Wodonga site. You will be working in a passionate and supportive transport team, time will be spent building relationships and creating engagement, as well as: Managing the transport operations within budget expectations to ensure effective provision of ongoing service to stores whilst delivering end to end cost targets Creating and maintaining positive partnerships with 3PL transport providers within metro scope, including daily task coordination activities as well as regular performance reviews with relevant carriers Supporting the State Transport Manager ensuring performance monitoring and KPIs are in place to measure performance of carriers in line with contractual terms and expectations Identifying and supporting operational improvements in the network and execution of Transport that reduce cost, reduce empty running, remove handling charges or increase capability Supporting Store Service team with addressing transport operational issues to meet customer expectations Working with the 3PL to optimise planning, allocation and fleet utilisation, while minimising overall kilometres in conjunction with carrier partners to deliver operational efficiencies Working closely with DC and 3PL teams ensuring continuous operations flow and effective daily task coordination DIFOTEF (Delivery IN FULL – at the pallet level, ON TIME – to the agreed store windows, ERROR FREE – without mistakes in transport) Reducing the cost of doing business whilst implementing principles to drive efficiency, safety and engagement within Metro transport operations scope Who we’re looking for Our new Transport Manager will be driven and passionate, keen to get things done and able to make an impact in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a team player with: Previous experience working as a Transport Manager Solid experience in FMCG, distribution or retail Experience in managing operational budgets Ability to oversee a team to deliver outcomes in line with business requirements and expectations Strong time management and organisational skills, have the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines with little impact to clients Ability to influence and engage with both internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated achievements in service delivery, cost management and team leadership Demonstrable “hands-on” leadership and coaching skills Knowledge of relevant OH&S and RTW legislation Joining the Group
