About the Role
Working closely with the senior management of Brookfield Infrastructure Group Australia (BIGA), you will be primarily assisting the Senior Vice President of Tax to manage the development of the tax strategy, planning and risk management practices for the BIGA business. The role will also be responsible for overseeing and ensuring all tax matters are appropriately addressed, including M&A tax support, tax due diligence, tax risk management and tax compliance for Brookfield Infrastructure Group.

Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
+ Support the SVP with all tax planning and strategy
+ Lead tax due diligence
+ Proactively communicate and recommend tax strategies and solutions to senior management
+ Assist manage and develop a high performance tax team located in Australia
+ Provide ongoing tax advice and support to Finance, Accounting, Legal and Investments
+ Manage and direct external tax resources in an efficient manner
+ Prepare and work with external advisors to compile transfer pricing documentation
+ Identify and communicate tax risks to senior management on a timely basis
+ Maintain and expand technical tax knowledge through professional development activities
+ Oversight of tax compliance and tax provision/reporting
+ Tax Risk Management: Ensure compliance with Infrastructure tax risk management policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, it is expected that you are a:
+ Qualified CA and/or lawyer with at least 10 years of corporate tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or in industry with a multinational corporate group;
+ Possess strong technical knowledge of Australian tax rules including corporate reorganisations;
+ Basic understanding of and experience with cross-border tax issues;
+ Able to communicate complex tax matters and issues in a concise and simple manner. Strong writing and presentation skills;
+ Proven ability to manage and/or build a team of tax professionals in a complex environment;
+ Excellent project management skills and applies a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments.
+ Excellent communicator, experienced in operating across different cultures and countries.
+ Experienced in M&A, DD and corporate tax sectors.
+ Highly developed tax, legal, financial and accounting skills.
+ Ability to understand complex commercial and contractual issues.
+ Capacity to provide tax advice and compliance support to senior management.
+ High energy, self-motivation and commitment to achieving objectives.
+ Ability to identify and prioritise strategic issues, especially regarding improved shareholder value.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to handle large amounts of information and detail in an organised and efficient manner.
+ The ability to work closely and intellectually partner within a dynamic environment and also be part of an action-orientated team working environment.
