  • $50.09 p/hr + 25% casual loading – MOC1-1G; $103.20 p/hr + 25% casual loading – MOC1-3G – Casual
  • This position is primarily an on-call casual position.

    You will provide a high quality community-based forensic and medical service, including medico-legal examinations, for women and men who have experienced a sexual assault. Using evidence-based practice, you will provide expert evidence regarding sexual assault issues and injury causation for the courts. You will provide documentation and reports for use within the legal system, and attend court to give evidence as an expert witness as required by the court or as requested by the prosecution or defence. Providing medical assessment and care and facilitating ongoing care for people who have been sexually assaulted, you will liaise with relevant service providers, police and lawyers in relation to forensic medical examinations when required.     Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration. Demonstrating experience in acute medical assessment in either an Emergency Department or other acute medical setting, you will have proven clinical skills in women’s health and particularly in the performance of ano-genital examinations. Along with sound knowledge of contemporary practice, issues and research in relation to sexual assault medicine, you will bring the ability to apply basic counselling skills and relate with a high level of sensitivity to people in crisis.
