Assistant Professor, World History (Non-Tenure Track)

The Department of History at High Point University is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of World History (any time period) with a thematic focus; examples include, but are not limited to, the history of technology, science, medicine, human migration, cultural/intellectual traditions, law/governance, etc. The department has existing strengths in Anglo-European, Latin American, and U.S. history. Responsibilities include teaching a 3:3 load of general education courses in World History, first-year interdisciplinary courses, and upper-level seminars for the undergraduate major aligned with the instructor’s expertise. Employment will begin in August 2026.

A record of exceptional teaching and a PhD by August 2026 are required. In addition to teaching, duties will include service to the university, to the Douglas S.
