Baker

A baker prepares and bakes baked goods, such as bread, cakes, and pastries. They also decorate and finish the baked goods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dough: Measure and mix ingredients, knead, cut, and shape dough
• Bake: Bake the dough in batches
• Decorate: Apply icing, glazes, fillings, and other decorations
• Ensure quality: Check the quality of ingredients and finished products
• Design recipes: Create new recipes or follow existing ones
• Manage production: Create production schedules to determine what and how much to produce
• Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and process orders
• Maintain cleanliness: Keep workstations and equipment clean and organized
