Position Overview
Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NAVAL ARCHITECT) in the HULL SURVERY AND PRESERVATION BRANCH; STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DIVISION. of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will plan and execute assignments and projects to meet required objectives. You will negotiate and justify projects to managers on conflicting priorities such as meeting technical requirements, standards and funding, scheduling or operational constraints to meet goals and objectives. You will develop plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various underwater structural systems (such as submarines), their components, equipment, and subsystems. You will utilize engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work. You will ensure timelessness of assignments.
