Exploration Core Technician

Reporting to the Exploration Superintendent, you will be part of the Surface Exploration Department. You will support the exploration and/or production departments by handling, processing and sampling/cutting of diamond drill core and performing basic labor support functions for Exploration.

Responsibilities

• Pick up drill core from headframe/drill site, open boxes, arrange them in order, and check for block footage errors.
• Tag hole number and footages for each box, place core boxes in rack, and bundle box lids for re‑use.
• Cut core according to training procedure, checking for QA/QC samples.
• Complete cutting log book/sheet and lab analysis form.
• Palletize/dump logged and sampled core boxes.
• Deliver sampled core, chips, or mucks to the assay lab if on the mine site as required.
