Organizational Setting and Reporting

The position is located in the Security Unit in the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). The Field Security Assistant performs the following duties under the direct and overall supervision of the Chief Security Officer (CSO).

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive security information and assess its impact on the safety and security of the Mission.
• Constantly monitor open sources, collect information through interlocutors, and develop situational awareness.
• Assist in managing security and safety incidents/crises.
• Manage all aspects of the administration and logistical work of the security unit.
• Receive, record, and appropriately act on information received through all communication means.
• Maintain fire safety preparedness in all UNMOGIP facilities, conduct fire safety assessments, and run periodic drills.
