General Statement of Job

Under limited supervision, supervises, plans and directs day-to-day operation of the in-school suspension program, providing an alternative to home suspension. Motivates and assists students in resolving problems which threaten effective school performance. Reports to the Principal or Assistant Principal as assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Manages daily operations of the in-school suspension program; supervises and manages suspended students' activities for the school day; chooses appropriate instructional assignments for students and gives assistance as needed. Collects assigned work and returns to teachers.

Works with guidance counselors, teachers and other professional staff to help motivate students to resolve problems which threaten effective school performance. Devises special methods of motivation.
