Position Overview
Play a vital role in laboratory services as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, emphasizing safety and quality standards. Engage in specimen collection and perform laboratory tests, enhancing patient care.
In this role, you will report to the Team Leader or Chief Technologist. Responsibilities include blood and specimen collection, preparing samples for analysis, conducting tests (such as urinalysis and ECG), and managing sample storage. Your focus on safety will contribute to the overall quality of care delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and prepare blood and other specimens
• Perform laboratory tests, including skin tests and ECGs
• Manage samples’ distribution and storage efficiently
• Communicate laboratory results and updates to staff
• Maintain equipment and safety standards in the lab
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 education
• Recognized Laboratory Assistant training program completion
• 1 year of recent experience in a related role
