Materials Engineer (PCA)

Job Description

Materials engineer: Applies knowledge of materials science to collaborate with and provide consulting to R&D, procurement and manufacturing engineering in the research, specification, sourcing and qualification of materials used in the design and production of Agilent products. Plans, evaluates and recommends technical, quality and cost specifications to meet design and business growth objectives and supply chain optimization. Identifies and qualifies alternative materials when needed. Works with suppliers to clarify specifications to meet quality, cost and manufacturability goals. This is a Senior Engineering position that requires a high level of creativity, originality and initiative in accomplishing assignments and can work independently when necessary to improve the quality of suppliers’ piece‑parts in the area of responsibility.
